Habitat Hobsonville

Our History

We have operated within Hobsonville over the last couple of years with the vision of creating a sustainable environment for everyone to enjoy.

Who are and what we do

HH is a community-based group of volunteers that is focused on restoring and enhancing the natural habitat around Hobsonville. We do this by engaging with the local community; removing weeds and noxious plants; reducing pest animals; and replanting water catchments and coastal esplanades. We are working closely with Auckland Council, Kainga Ora, HPRS, Kaipatiki Project, Little Creatures and others to develop a sustainable entity that is a champion for the environment and conservation.

Volunteer with us

We are keen to work with our community, including tangata whenua, schools and businesses to solve local environmental challenges. Habitat Hobsonville is strongly committed to health and safety, use of humane pest control methods and recording and monitoring of progress. Habitat Hobsonville is seeking more volunteers to help with improving our habitat which will encourage native birds back to our bush.
